Micro-crystal Electron Diffraction

MicroED is a powerful technique used to resolve the high-resolution structure of small molecule compounds. Microcrystals are too small to be administered by X-ray crystallography but their diffraction patterns can be collected with an electron beam. The diffraction dataset can be processed by conventional crystallographic programs for a rapid atomic resolution (usually better than 1 Å) structure determination. Large efforts are usually required to make microcrystals grow bigger for the X-ray crystallography method. With less sample requirement and less time consumption, microED serves as an ideal approach to determine the structure and crystal form of chemical compounds.
