In Vivo Models

Expertise: pain, oncology, metabolic disease, and cardiovascular disease

Viva biotech has established multiple in vivo assay systems to evaluate compounds. Combined with our expertise in different disease areas, we are strategically focused on four disease models: pain, oncology, metabolic diseases (diabetes and obesity), and cardiovascular disease (hypertension)

   Pain Models
Chronic constriction injury model (CCI or Bennett- Xie’s model)
Spinal nerve ligation model (SNL or Chung model)
Partial sciatic nerve injury model (PSL or Seltzer model)
Peripheral neuropathy induced by diseases (STZ, TIPN & VIPN)
Inflammatory disease-induced pain model (CFA & Zymonsan)

   Oncology Xenograft Models
          Ectopic Xenograft Models
               Human breast cancer
               Lung cancer
               Human squamous cell carcinoma
          Orthotopic Xenograft Models
               Lung, Liver, Breast, Colon.
          Metastasis: Liver, Gastric.
Human Primary Tumor Models: In collaboration with local hospitals, we are able to collect human primary tumor samples to establish the stable human primary tumor models in NOD/SCID mice for compound efficacy study. The following human primary tumor models are available for compound efficacy study:
               Lung cancer
               Breast cancer
               Colon cancer
               Liver cancer
               Gastric cancer, ect.

   Metabolic Disease
          Diabetes & Obesity
               Mouse: db/db, ob/ob,
               Rat: fa/fa, DIO rat

   Cardiovascular Disease (Hypertension)

   Animal facilities
In-housed 5, 000 sq ft animal facility including 2,500 sq ft SPF (rodent), and 2,500 sq ft conventional (dog and rabbit) facilities.
5, 000 sq ft animal facility suitable for radio-isotope labeled DMPK studies (located in Shanghai Institute of Applied Physics, CAS)
