Prof. Yikuan Xie, Expert in Chronic Pain Model, Joined Viva as Scientific Advisor in Pain Model

Prof. Xie is a professor in physiology at the Medical School of Peking Union Medical College and is a pioneer in pain animal model. With more than 30 years of research in neurophysiology, especially in subject of pain, he has achieved great success in the pain area. He is known for the establishment of chronic constriction injury (CCI) model (Bennett-Xie model) of chronic pathogenic pain. His lab has collaborated with a major pharmaceutical company to evaluate pharmacological effects of pain-killer candidates.
As Scientific Advisor, Prof. Xie will advise and train the Viva pain model team, and brings in expertise necessary to set up and carry out research at Viva.
